Divorce
Georgia is a "no-fault" and "fault" divorce state. This means that people can divorce based upon the fact that their marriage is "irretrievably broken" or on any one of the recognized grounds 
for a divorce including adultery, abandonment, cruel treatment, and habitual intoxication, to name a few. There is no specific formula for dividing the marital assets, but fault may be one factor considered in determining how to fairly divide the assets and debts of a marriage.
You are not alone! We have handled hundreds of divorces in Pickens, Gilmer, Fannin, Cherokee, Union and the surrounding counties of North Georgia. We will assist you to obtain all of the financial information concerning your marital assets, both known and hidden from you. We obtain this information through "Discovery" which may include Depositions (sworn testimony), Interrogatories (Written Questions answered under Oath) Requests for Production and Notices to Produce materials. We are also able to subpoena bank and other financial records and obtain the testimony of unwilling witnesses.
