Domestic Violence and Protective Orders

Domestic violence is a great threat to our families. All too often children are the victims of the abuse in a family whether they are merely observing violence between their parents or are physically abused themselves. We assist in obtaining Protective Orders and Restraining Orders for battered Husbands and Wives.

With the availablility of Domestic Violence Protective Orders, there is also the risk that one party in a divorce and child custody action will abuse the law to gain an advantage over the other party. This abuse of the Domestic Violence Protective Order safeguard is a disturbing and escalating trend in North Georgia, the Appalachian Judicial Circuit and elsewhere. We are prepared and experienced in defending against the entry of Protective Orders which are baseless and a ploy to gain an advantage in a divorce or child custody action.
